Nostalgia is not required for adults to enjoy cartoony games. There is no switch in the brain that makes polite language and colours other than brown and grey become unappealing once someone turns 18. To seek validation through M-rated content is the hallmark of emotional immaturity, not adulthood.

To twist what people say, ignore what they say, and having a fit is the hallmark of immaturity. Nostalgia is a huge part of why adults enjoy cartoony games, like it or not. No one is seeking validation through M-rated content. If you bothered to actually read you'd see I have said already that the rating has nothing to do with it. You can have a game that appeals to adults, that gives an adult perspective that doesn't have an M-rating. Quit trying to twist this into a discussion about rating. It is about having games and content that appeals to the adult perspective without relying on nostalgia, that's not cartoony, cheesy, or oversexed. It's not too much to ask and it's why Xb and PS are doing so much better than Nintendo and why 3rd party developers that actually create that kind of content are running away from Nintendo in droves.
