Because Sony struck a deal with Mac Donalds to put hypnotic drugs in everyone's Mac Doubles and Diet pop. This drug would make anyone under the influence, purchase a PS4 if they see an ad. I guess you can call it marketing...at it's finest.
Seriously though, Sony has games. Everyone else doesn't. I hate to say it. XBone has games, Sony has more. Nintendo...has games....I think...Sony has more. Software sells hardware and stuff that Iwata always says. PS4 is also competitively priced to beat Wii U and Xbone. Sony has had a good hold on the console gaming market since PS1. The fans keep coming back as well. Unlike other companies, Sony has found a way to incorporate all the tactics and strategies of your poll choices. It amazes me. In short, it's just a good system that people make connections with. It makes me wonder if Nintendo or Microsoft should even still make consoles anymore.
