I reviewed your list again, and realized you had many of the "essentials".

Thought I would tell you a line or two about the ones you are missing:

METEOS : Best puzzle game on the DS. Metacritic 88

"With solo modes consisting of time trials, endurance tests or battles against virtual players, and wickedly competitive multiplayer games, Meteos is the most compellingly perfect puzzler we've played in years."

"Meteos is a good enough reason to purchase a DS if you're a true puzzle fan. This is without a doubt one of the best puzzle games and will certainly be my pick for best puzzle game of 2005."

"I love Meteos. I didn't think a puzzle game would ever burn itself into my retinas to the degree Tetris did, but I was wrong. I find myself waking up and dreaming of rockets blasting off or lining up three different colored tiles on floors while I walk. It's a disease, but it's one that I'm glad I paid for the privilege to catch."

"A resounding success for the puzzle genre; it's really the first time that story, graphics, sound and gameplay have meshed well."

"The originality is a key factor to what makes it so great. Meteos is the killer app for the DS."

"A must-buy for every DS owner, whether you're a puzzle fan or not."

"Put simply, Meteos is solid game and is worth every dime and second spend overing over the system's dual screens."

"I cannot stress strongly enough just how much fun and how addicting this game is."

"One of the best puzzle titles on any Nintendo platform in years."

"Meteos is without a doubt, THE puzzle game to own for the Nintendo DS. It's unique, can only be done this way using the touch screen, is a fantastic presentation for the graphics and audio, and a full, exciting game can be played with just a few minutes to spare."

"But who needs friends when you have Meteos, the greatest puzzle game on many a platform, and indeed the perfect excuse to splash out on the system for a slice of puzzle perfection?"

"I haven't played a puzzle game this addictive since "Tetris.""The DS has had a lot of puzzlers in a short space of time, but none quite as amazing and unique as this."

PROFESSOR LAYTON: part story, all puzzle, very unique, while resembling titles like Phoenix Wright (an AMAZING series) as well, just with puzzles instead of mysteries. Metacritic score of 85. Some choice review comments:

"One of the finest debuts of a new IP in some time and does an incredible job of combining two areas the DS seems to have been made for: puzzles and adventure gaming. The addictive gameplay, twisting story, charming characters and beautifully drawn animation makes this a game that neither puzzle fans, nor adventure game fans should miss."

"A top-notch package that'll make you love puzzles as much as the game's designers."

"Perhaps the best puzzle game for the DS to date."

"A must-have"

NEW YORK TIMES CROSSWORD PUZZLE

Most overlooked puzzler on the list, I don't know if Ninty's own crossword game will beat this one. And you can find it for less than $10. Metacritic = 79

"At around 1,000 different puzzle of varying difficulty, a plethora of options, ease of use, and single-card download play, there's little if anything that New York Times Crosswords got wrong."

"So, is it worth having an essentially infinite supply of crossword puzzles the size of a postage stamp to carry around with you for $30? If you have any sort of interest in crosswords, yes. Undoubtedly. It's one of the best uses yet of the DS, and it makes for a perfect portable game."

"A five-letter word used to describe Catherine, Alexander, and Tony the Tiger's favorite cereal."

"Judging the game on its own merits, this is just what a handheld crossword game should be."

"Superb handwriting recognition and other nifty features make a strong argument for ditching traditional paper crosswords in favor of ones on handhelds like the Nintendo DS."

MAGNETICA

Think Zuma.

"There is a reason why this type of game has been around, and the twists on the gameplay for the DS version make it worth owning, even a must have, for puzzle fans."

"A satisfyingly fun puzzle game with a solid focus on player speed, skill, and accuracy. Its combo mechanic requires more thought than dumb luck, so smarter players can really strut their stuff if they've got the flicking motion to do it."

"Magnetica, while simple in premise, is a great puzzle game for those looking something more than a Tetris clone. The action is fast and hectic, and the touch-screen controls are responsive, giving the whole game a very polished feel."

"Another excellent addition to the DS's catalogue of puzzlers. It's the clacking sounds that do it for us. And the pretty colours. Mmm."

"But the gameplay happily does all of the talking and Magnetica can sit comfortably with the likes of Tetris DS and Meteos as one of the best puzzle games available for the system."

"All the qualities you'd want from a puzzle game. Classy."

TRAUMA CENTER: UNDER THE KNIFE

Not 'really' a puzzle game, but most puzzle fans would be fans.

"I implore you, don't skip out on this one because it's too hard or too weird. The sheer anxiety of carrying out the surgeries with accuracy and haste is a thrilling affair, one that needs to be experienced by all gamers. "
