Sony shafted Resistance procedurally. No marketing push for 2 or 3, with 3 coming out in one of the most crowded holiday seasons in action game history. They then sent the Vita game to die not too long after screwing R3 and Insomniac went multiplat after being screwed so hard on one of the most renowned FPS games of the past 20 years.

So no, we won't see Resistance ever again. It was one of many casualties of Sony from 2009-2013. Shame that that stretch had some of the best and worst from Sony simultaneously.

Well you need to consider the Resistance series was average at best and didn't deserve a big push. I played them all, handheld games included.

Personally I don't think Resistance is dead. It certainly has a following so maybe it needs a reboot.

As a series it was average but Sony didn't even try to push it like they did their other average-at-best shooter franchise, Killzone. And as I said, R3 is held in fairly high regard in the FPS pantheon.

But I disagree that it has a following. Resistance had really bad return on each game (going from 4m to 2m to 1m to I believe like 50k). Sony was in the midst of their HORRIBLE advertising drought for games when 3 launched, yes, but the series didn't seem to have more than a million core fans in 2011 based on R3's sales. So a remaster would perform probably around R2 levels because of the new crowd gobbling up everything they missed when they were on 360. Very good for a remaster but I don't trust anybody except Insomniac with that franchise and I don't think they're gonna come back after Sony's slap to the face.
