I think my favorite was actually last year's.
Its set up was very fresh with the robot chicken skits, it was just game after game after game (including some of my favorites like Zelda, Splatoon, Bayo 2, Yoshi, etc.) and then there was the treehouse afterwards that revealed even more games and showed us extensive looks at games like Xeno X. Overall, a very refreshing and jam-packed "conference."
Plus, Iwata and Reggie beat the shit out of each other. That was fantastic.
