You can't really say that when the game itself isn't released yet. Same for Versus, no one has ever played that nor knows what the story is about. Sure Stella SEEMED important but we don't know the entirety of her story.  Luna replaced her and she looks exactly like Stella, who knows what her role will ultimately be.

Well I can, as there have been tons of info and trailer on who stella was and how important she was to the story, as a matter of fact, noctis and stella were the only charactered introduced, and Nomura used their Romeo & Juliet esque angle to promote the game. People who have been following this game for9 years, know exactly what this game was and why it was special and there was a reason why it was named VERSUSXIII.. its just people who only had fleeting interest in the game think nothing was revealed and everything is a speculation.

I have been following the game since its announcement and have watched, read everything Square has released for it and in no way have they released sufficient info about Stella. Why would they when the game isn't released yet. If you really do know who she is, then please enlighten me. Who is she? What is her role? WHat does she do? Why does she appear to be fighting against Noctis? Who wins? Does she live? Oh and don't be saying she's a special someone who like Noctis can see the light of the place of the dead. Tell me something that makes her important to the entirety of the story since you seem to know the story of Versus already.

No offence, but it doesnt seem like you had been following this game, do u know how many trailer, gameplay trailerare out there? and how many gameplay trailers and japenese article on the game, so many of fans wouldnt have been cosplaying stella or noctis if they they have any info on them. Again as i said they were the only two people introduced from the game and were used for promotion, infact only stella was used in one of the japenese promo of final fantasy versus describing what Fabula Nova Crystalis is, they wouldnt have used her if she wasnt important to the story as noctis was. And i have stated about this in my other post go look it up, its more than about seeing light of the day.

but just for your satisfaction I'll try one more time to explain who stella was...

The reason people were invested in the original character is because of the way she was pitched as. Character design, just the visual, on its own, is already an expression of an intent. When you see Cloud with a big ass sword you know he's a tough guy in some kinda uniform even without having played the game or seeing him in action. Character traits therefore are expressed in the design itself. Design has been changed, the new girl looks a lot more younger, less confident and more vulnerable, just from the outset. But we had more to the pitch of Stella than just that. We had scenes in which she was shown being in some kind of imposed rivalry with Noctis, we had scenes from trailers and descriptions that gave ideas of what her character is like. All of these were presented to us in order to sell us, potential audience, on the character of the upcoming game. That's what people were invested in.

We had a strong girl from a rival family who had similar abilities to the protagonist, being stuck in a Romeo and Juliet-esque star-crossed lovers situation. On one hand stella was one who was more upfront and accepting about her gift, as oppose to noctis who had reservations about it (speculation were that he had spilt personality, as his eyes would glow red for when ever he saw the light, changing him into antoganist, pitting him against stella or  probably she would have been a sub boss character) That was the pitch and some people found it interesting and an appealing point of the game.

It is now being discarded and replaced with what the new dev team thinks would work better for the game they are making - which is fair - but if an interesting pitch like Stella is being replaced with a vulnerable princess archetype that might not even hold a candle to better ladies in the series such as Ashe, Garnet or Yuna, well then of course people will be a little bit worried (although fair is fair, I'll admit that we don't know many details about Lunafreya yet - other than the way she is presented so far or, er, pitched to us if you want).

Again No offence! i wouldnt have needed to tell you all this if all if you had honestly followed the game over the years.
