It won't be a competitor, it's just another way to play the lead platform :D
Steam Machines look to be a niche market, hopefully I'm wrong. The one benefit it will have is in about 2 years, whatevers available in the $449 model will absolutely destroy what the PS4 and Xbox One can push (comparing 2017 Steam Box vs 2017 Xbox One/PS4.. if Steam Box makes it that long.)
