staticneuron - You have a Wii. Have you noticed how in-sensitive/sensitive the acceleromoter is? Wii sports is what I am biasing it is BAD from. If I was to use Rayman, Wario, or redsteel. I would say other than detecting motion. It's completely useless. Wii Sports - baseball - Is a prime example. it's like it has 3 levels of motion detection. And yet, all 3 of them are so close together, it is EXTREMELY hard to hit the mid level. Wii Tennis is a great example. In fact. it is a horrible example. It's like it detects motion... not how much. Basically what I am saying is... for 'depth' and 'complexity' you might as well be pressing a pressure sensitive button. I'm not complaing about Wii Sports. It's not meant to be complex. But my point is, the accelerometer lacks the sensitivity required to use it in a complex application. Baseball is a great example. Pitching is the BEST example. Flick your wrist slighly... the ball goes 96mph. Flick your wrist as hard as you can... the ball goes 96mph. Barely flick your wrist. the ball dont throw. Try agian. it dont go. Try agian. it goes 64. Try agian, it goes 96. Try agian. It goes 77. It's hard to get it between the top and bottom. I typically just used curve ball/sinker and stuff to adjust my speed, because I couldn't get NEAR the sensitivity I wanted on the accelerometer. The PS3 has the same problem with it's accelerometer. I'm not bashing the Wii. I am stateing a flaw with current gen Accelerometers. They suck. I dont see it being used in 'advanced' ways very well. Other than it being used as a 'physical' button. Because that's how it felt in zelda. (actually that pissed me off, because I hated havening to twitch my hand to swing the sword... and it made no difference which way I did it. I love the sensor that detects how your holding the controller. However the PS3 has that too. My main point here is. The accelerometer sucks. It's like a button. It does not feel near as good as I would like. Crap. I have a 1handed joystick that has more buttons and adjusters than the Wii. (it's what I use to play X3. X3 could not be played on the Wii. (graphically and controller, it would have to use the classic) I like the potential for the pointer/rotational detetion. But Every game I've bought for the Wii felt like a 20-30$ game. Not a 50$ game. I am gonna stop buying them untill I find them for 20-25$. (or rent) Only Wii games that seem worth 50$ are. Zelda, Metroid Prime, Mario, Animal Crossing. (among a few others) I'm gonna stick with buying my 60$ PS3 games.
