Just read through this entire thread and can't believe the amount of people who think that the graphics on Fallout 4 are "last gen". I mean..what? Some of you people are looking at the 360 and PS3 generation through rose tinted glasses I'm afraid. Is Fallout 4 better looking that the Witcher 3? No, I can honestly say it's not. But is it a million miles better than Fallout 3 and New Vegas on the last gen consoles? It's absolutely night and day better!
Forums these days are just getting worse and worse with people complaining literally about everything. You can't look at any screenshot, any video without an endless list of comments about people moaning about all sorts.
Games don't need endless amounts of resources ploughed in to the graphics to make them multi million sellers! Seriously, look at some of the better games of this generation. Bloodborne, best game I've played this gen so far. Is it a looker? No way, it looks like something that sits between last gen and this gen in all honesty. Art style carries that game more than the amount of polygons and particle effects do. It was still immersive regardless. This rule applies to loads of games this generation so far, like Alien Isolation, Evil Within, Far Cry 4, Dying Light, Destiny, Dragon Age. None of them are particularly sparkling in the graphics department from a technological standpoint. Didn't stop them selling well or receiving generally positive reviews did it?
For what its worth I voted that the graphics were good enough. Anyone who ever played Fallout 3 or New Vegas DIDN'T play it for the graphics. If they did, then they'd have no right to complain about the graphics in Fallout 4 which are obviously a massive improvement. You play Fallout games for the experience, not the eye candy.
Do these people absolutely refuse to play things like Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Borderlands, DMC etc etc because they either look cartoony or unrealistic? Of course they don't!
