Nintendo and Sony won't touch Manhunt 2 with AO rating

What is the point of the rating?  Many people are adults, or do those companies not know that?

I want this game.  People didn't understand the first game, where I believe the guy was innocent until he had to kill bad guys to escape captivity and save his family.  A terrible story, I know.
