Because not all good games have to be AAA. Pillars of Eternity is currently the best game I've played this year, and it is a PC exclusive. Furthermore, PC versions of said multiplats are the definitive versions for performance alone (without regarding graphical differences.) So if the PC isn't missing out on multiplats that means it is getting better with time and can be more appealing for people who feel it is worth the loss in convenience.
Where did he say he was happy? He was just stating facts, PC gaming is becoming more capable in emulating a console-like experience, and consoles are becoming more like gaming PCs in almost every way.
edit: Other notable PC exclusives that I have been enjyoing are Total War, Path of Exile, and Cities: Skylines.
