I highly doubt that. Amiibo don't really sell systems, and I'm pretty sure Nintendo knows that.

And it's not like thinking about something detracts from the production of what you're working on. Amiibo were officially announced at E3 2014 and launched November of the same year. It's not that big of a gap. It was clear in 2012 that Wii U was a flop, and I don't think they even started talking about NFCs until late 2013.

Anyways, their game output has been fine. They're one company. What's missing isn't 1st party, it's 3rd party.
