PC - 980Ti worth it? - View Post

After watching Linus's review of the Ti and the benchmarks on PCG I don't feel it;s worth it, at elast for me since the avg fps benches aren't showing bigger gains than I;d originally hoped for and 4k benchmarks aren't looking that great either, I'd rather jump into 4k when it's cheaper (where I won't need to splurge for two cards to get constant 60fps) and 60fps becomes the norm for it.

The card itself is apparently meant to be going for $650 which still sounds expensive, for me in the UK it'll either go for £500+ or mid $400's if I'm extremely lucky but in the end it;s release will push down the regular 980's, I;d rather just go with a cheaper 980 myself and wait 2 or 3 more years until Nvidia really throws out even better cards that can properly handle 4k 60fps at more decent prices than what they are doing now.

It's up to you though, if you have the dosh and want it then go for it if you feel it will serve your needs, for me it just doesn't have the bigger gains I;d hoped it would and it;s not exactly cheap either, Titan X was never a factor into my builds let alone any desire to purhcase one so it being less than a Titan X just further dampens my expectations.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
