980Ti worth it?

Hm, 4GB for 1440p for the next 5 years? I'm not sure about that. Yeah, I'd go with the 6GB Ti if money isn't an issue.

I usually bought 200€ cards every 2 years and got my first expensive one in spring 2012 with a GTX 680 and I'm surprised how well it still does. More expensive cards can be worth it.
