| HoloDust said: Yeah, I get console convinience, just thought you'd enjoy this game much more on PC with all the problems you were mentioning in your posts - not just that kb/m handling of Geralt and Roach is superior to controller, but signs are individually mappable to keys...plus, if you have decent GPU, there's no frame rate issues and loading times seems quite ok (though not sure what you consider terrible). As for crossbow, I've used it few times, mostly to get flying things down and underwater, but I find it pretty much useless otherwise - this is pretty much melee game, all long range stuff is almost non-existent - not that is really required (so far), I'm not seeing any Orc or Black Goblin Shamans that are shooting at me with fireballs from afar. |
The thing is, I like to play on my projector, 5.1 surround sound, comfortable on a reclining couch. Doesn't get better than that.
I can hook my pc up to the projector yet it's a hassle and I have not found a comfortable way to use keyboard and mouse that way. Thus I'm always messing around with controller configurations. My gpu is outdated anyway, pc is dying (random machine stop errors) and my laptop that's now serving all my pc needs only has a GT 740m. Makes the choice quite easy.
I did play Elite dangerous for months on my laptop. plenty slowdown yet manageable and most controls could be mapped to a DS4 (still need a keyboard nearby) Load times were still bad enough that I spend all the down time on the forums. The big advantage of pc is instant alt-tab. It's also its downfall, too many distractions and I forget I was playing.
