I was more of a pc gamer, yet I prefer the convenience of consoles. I played witcher 2 on pc and had terrible slowdown in some places, so much I had to keep going through the settings to make it playable. Now on consoles at least it stays playable, no slowdown into sub 10fps.

I've tried fighting with the horse but it's just frustrating with his turning and the camera. I rather sprint everywhere and only use the horse when I'm encumbered and need to get to town. Fighting enemies you're not supposed to yet is easy with axii.

Thanks for the tip about the crossbow. I never use it since it's slow to load and hardly does any damage, I guess its usefulness is underwater. Quen works once under water but you can't recast it.

Yeah, I get console convinience, just thought you'd enjoy this game much more on PC with all the problems you were mentioning in your posts - not just that kb/m handling of Geralt and Roach is superior to controller, but signs are individually mappable to keys...plus, if you have decent GPU, there's no frame rate issues and loading times seems quite ok (though not sure what you consider terrible).

As for crossbow, I've used it few times, mostly to get flying things down and underwater, but I find it pretty much useless otherwise - this is pretty much melee game, all long range stuff is almost non-existent - not that is really required (so far), I'm not seeing any Orc or Black Goblin Shamans that are shooting at me with fireballs from afar.
