The problem this generation is the Wii is SOOOO different in all respects from the other two consoles (controller, GAMES, price, technology) that it is infinitely more likely that consumers will own the Wii + One other console, than it was in the previous generation. In the previous generation the PS2 had almost all the games that you could play on it rivals, making the owning of 2 consoles almost stupid.

This time round there are so many differences between the Wii and the HD consoles that owning 2 consoles won't be rare for gamers.... (and don't anyone tell me there is not a SINGLE game on other consoles you are not curious about because you are lying)

I think you could have said the same about last gen. There were many great Nintendo games that had absolutely no chance of appearing on PS2. If PS2 owners could make do without owning Zelda, Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Smash Bros Melee, Eternal Darkness then I think Wii owners could make do without owning COD4, GTA4, Halo 3, MGS4 especially since those games are all tailored to the same group while the Nintendo games cater to different audiences.

 Of course there are exclusives in both generations, the difference this time is that with the new controller, anyone can play these games. Last gen, these games were controlled with the usual controllers for all consoles. If the Wii had a regular controller, I doubt it would sell better than the others (or the GC for that matter).....

PSN ID: T_Gears

End of 2009 ltd sales:

Wii = 67-68m

X360 = 38-39m

PS3 = 34-35m

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).
