So, how can you say that PS2 did kill GC and XBox? What if it was the lack of games? OK, so 360 says hi in NA, but despite it saying hi, Wii sells the best, and apparently people are getting PS360:s since Wii is so hard to find. In PAL regions, i don't think PS3 is selling anywhere near PS2 levels, since if i recall TheSources "50 million" article, Wii is actually trailing behind PS2 by quite a margin and considering PS3 trailing behind Wii. So, if the market crashed, then what all the fanboys are complaining about? If Wii would have been similar console to PS360, the 3 would have split the number of consoles PS3 and 360 have sold combined by 3 of them. So, Wii is nothing but good for the industry anyway you want to look at it. PS2 was the second in the market, just like PS3, and PS2 killed Dreamcasts sales before PS2 launch. |
The problem this generation is the Wii is SOOOO different in all respects from the other two consoles (controller, GAMES, price, technology) that it is infinitely more likely that consumers will own the Wii + One other console, than it was in the previous generation. In the previous generation the PS2 had almost all the games that you could play on it rivals, making the owning of 2 consoles almost stupid.
This time round there are so many differences between the Wii and the HD consoles that owning 2 consoles won't be rare for gamers.... (and don't anyone tell me there is not a SINGLE game on other consoles you are not curious about because you are lying)
PSN ID: T_Gears
End of 2009 ltd sales:
Wii = 67-68m
X360 = 38-39m
PS3 = 34-35m
Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).
