Yes, it is the normal USA version to the PS2.

Don't worry, right niw I'm not bothering with extra challenges or stuff, as I rather use the time to play other game I want.

The original version is exactly what I wanted too.

For example, I got Persona 3 FES because it's the one available at the PSN but I won't play the extra right after/together with it, once I beat it I'll move to 4, so I actually would have preffered to be able to get the normal version, it would probably be even cheaper too.

I want to experience the game as people who bought it at launch most of the times, unless it has some really big issue that can be avoided. The extra content is just it, extra, it can be could to have but won't change my experience with the normal playthrought.

In Personas case,P3 FES has added story stuf troughout the whole game, its by far the better and more complete version. Same could be said about Persona 4 Golden, if you have a Vita and can get that version of the game I recomend you do so, P4 Golden is the complete version while Persona 4 lacks a bunch of stuf that was added to the story and to gameplay on the Golden version.

For instance the true ending on both P3 and P4 is only achivable on FES and Golden versions, the original ending you get on P3 and P4 they do conclude the story but you can feel theres something still lacking to be explained in there.
