In my view, power is what defines generations. I assume that in yours it's all about time. In that case, maybe Zeebo (a console launched 4 years after X360, which is 7th gen) could be considered 8th gen.

It´s all about simple logic.

It makes no sense to call WiiU a last gen console, as it made no sense to call Ps1 a 4th gen console just because was way less powerfull than N64.
