Nothing's changed; this was just an acknowledgement of what the market already knew.

There simply is no significant market for the PSV in the West.

The PSV still makes for a good companion device for the PS4, and it remains a good device for playing old PSP and PS1 games. For anything else, it's pretty much import Japanese games for those who are into that market.

and yet....

weekly hardware chart: 16th may 2015 (last sales data we have)

Vita  in eu  > Wii U in eu.

Vita in Japan > Wii U in japan

Vita globally > Wii U globally.

Thats like saying theres no market for the Wii U outsides of the US.

The vita still has alot of good games getting made for it.

Except that the Wii U will continue to see the same level of support outside of the US until its successor is released.

The Vita represents the end of the line for SCE's mobile console device aspirations.

As an early supporter of the PSV (pre-order, day 1 user), I still like the device and consider it to be the best handheld console I've ever used, but as of now, no significant support in the NA market can be expected and it's been a very long time since I was a part of the grey market import niche.
