How? I think the only reason you say that is because you assume a polygamy marriage would be comprised of one husband and many wifes. Do you think one wife with many husbands is a way of keeping women down? Marriage in general was a way of owning a woman, I fail to see how adding polygamy is worse in that regard.

Not only that, but there are group marriages with multiple men and women. I think it is a wonderful thing to have more adults take care of children, and have sound finances. The more the merrier in my opinion (as long as everyone gets along.)
