A game being always online doesn't personally effect me and does nothing to impact my decision to buy a game... However, you're going to take quite a sales hit going with that strategy, because not everyone can be always online (and some don't want to be).
With that being said, I haven't enjoyed a NFS game since Hot Pursuit 2 on the PS2, so there's really no chance that I'd pick this one up..
