A Chocobo/Moogle Nintendogs kind of thing could make sense. Maybe any hesitation in branching out the Final Fantasy content could be linked to Square's apparent effort of restoring faith in the series with FFXV. Like waiting for a critically acclaimed FF to do something like this.
Or maybe they just don't care/don't have hopes on doing something like that.
