As for collector's items, I'd rather have DLC's as downloadable content than toys. Amiibos being toys makes them even worse in my eyes. I don't want other publishers to follow them either, its a pathetic practice.

If you dont want them for the figurine, then you are doing it wrong. The DLC's on the amiibo's are not essential for the game. Wether you recognise its value to you personally or not, there is a piece of value there. Its undeniable. You have to separate that from what interests you.

DLC's aren't essential for most of the games, but they are still criticised.

Also, I don't think I'm the only gamer who doesn't like DLC's being available through toys, I'm sure most gamers considering their age will rather have them as downloadable content than having to buy a toy for such stuff.
