As for the gameplay part, I feel it depends on game to game whether or not gameplay is the most important in a game. A game may capture you with its atmosphere alone.

I played the game after it was given away as an apology for the PSN hack and I really don't understand how the game got the critic scores and love it got, it is just an incredibly barebones open world games, the campaign was ok (not amazing) but the side content was just tedious and boring.

i enjoyed the infamous games but yeah they are a big offender of what i said in a previous post about how games don't need a big open world they just need plenty of stuff to do in that world.
