We are talking about Dragon Quest XI, which is CONFIRMED to be a home console game and they even said it won't be on handheld, so in this thread only Wii U and PS3/PS4 matter. So there is absolutely no reason for you to be mentioning the other versions and combining the sales. Also DQX sold 400k in its first week on ALL platforms, not Wii U. This site gets its Japanese numbers from Media Create and just tweaks them by a tiny amount so their Japanese numbers are pretty accurate. And this game won't be multiplat, Japanese comapnies don't do exclusives, that's how it is, like how 95% of the games on 3DS/Vita are exclusive to that platform. Also Square Enix is pretty much done with Wii U, I still can't believe people are expecting 3rd party games for Wii U. Just look at the Resident Evil Remasters. Also considering the Wii U only has DQX which did not sell that well on the Wii U compared to the other platforms which means there aren't that many fans as you think there are. Comparing it to the 1 million copies sold of DQH on a platforms which rarely gets Dragon Quest games, yeah PS3/PS4 over Wii U is basically confirmed. Also if we do get a PS4 version, it's basically confirmed for a western release so stop talking about sales just in Japan. PS3/PS4 > Wii U in terms of sales by a large amount. |
How does only one version matter? Oh that's right because you can't argue it so it's an agenda, keep telling yourself that maybe you'll be able to sleep at night especially as the point is the game could become multiplatform with how poorly consoles are performing in Japan, I don't even know if you're serious about about it selling 400k on all platforms in the first week because only the Wii version has crossed 400k and funny enough it still has a large number of active players.
Lol oh dear your excuse for it not being mutliplatform is so naive it reminds me of when people imploded when FF became multiplatform after giving similar arguments, you then go on to use handhelds as an argument after trying to excuse them. 3DS and Vita are doing miles better then any console in Japan that's why their titles are exclusive, it's even funnier when DQ has already gone multiplatform on four different platforms that alone contradicts you as even if we remove PC the are 3 platforms plus an android version and your only response is only the Wii U version counts. RE games are already on WII U the console is backwards compatible with all the rereleased versions on the Wii, X1 and PS4 aren't backwards compatible so have no access to them any other way, if that is your grand argument you best head back to the drawing board as someone earlier was attacking another user for bringing up Capcom in regards to SE.
You know why people talk Japanese sales in regards to DQ? Because it's the key component to the series if you still don't understand this it's you who should stop talking as western sales in the series don't even compare and the platforms they were on weren't short on sales in the west either, DQIX the top seller in the franchise sold 1.2m in the west but 4.5m in Japan for reference, this is why DQVII's remake hasn't made it over, when Nintendo isn't footing the bill for localization SE become reluctant to bring anything over that isn't KH or FF.
