Well, they can always cut little things here and there taht are not that noticeable to release the game right now, or maybe they could use variable reolution so that framerate keeps steady, this trick has been done on games like wipeout hd and dont think 6-7 fps are going to hold back to much the image quality when they do the cuts. Another issue may be that they are trying to use MSSA or haevy antialasing solution, they should loook for things like SMAA
