That's why I said alternatives.

Keep that head in the clouds bud, but you'll find that the air gets pretty thin up there.

And those alternatives are PCs. Which I've already made clear aren't consoles.

It's quite clear you'll say anything to discredit the PS4 at this point.

You started the thread by saying: "Unless you count steam machines aka steam consoles. But hey, why not." (But as I pointed out, those aren't out yet).

But then people replied and you kept moving goal posts to try to make sure the PS4 couldn't be viewed as the "most powerful console".

It's not "but hey, why not" anymore?

How so? When did I move goal posts? Because I didn't mention the alternatives? They are the same machines that were meant to be steam machines but since Valve pushed it back that means that it's less viable? Many were going to be shipping with both SteamOS and Windows to enable the user to be able to play the most games with the machine. If you think it's about the OS that makes it a console then I suppose the X1 can't really be considered a console since it uses a variant of Windows.

Again, a console is just a computer that is designed to mainly play games and be hooked up to a TV.

If you disagree, that's fine, but please post something that actually says any different. Your link to the steam machines said nothing about them not being consoles, that's why I completely dismissed it. Other than a bunch of forum posts like this, you aren't likely to find anything that says anything to the contrary that isn't entirely opinion based with odd restraints to make a console a console. I really don't see why it's that big of a deal. Sony is using dishonest marketing, nothing new here.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
