I ounce had a Blackberry phone. It was the Blackberry storm and it was their first take at making phones with touch screens. It was horrible, sold it just one month later.
OP: I guess it's good, wouldn't bet their doing this to garner any revenue though. Blackberry is way past it's hey-day. More likely for security or information reasons as you mentioned.
