Just finished the prologue and I think I hit level 4 when I get the EXP for the final mission.

From what I can tell the main point of level up is to unlock the "slots" that you use to activate your attribute points. For instance I got to level 4 in the prologue but found 4-5 places of power that give you an attribute point when you unlock them. So I gained 8-9 points in the prologue.

 

Oh ya impression, so far so good. It feels like 1/2 between DA:I and Skyrim as far as world building and such. With a hint of Shadow of Mordor in the combat (and the ability leveling system)
