As of now, Nintendo has only released one remake for the Wii U: The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again, I believe that full-fledged remakes are a great opportunity to fill out a console's lineup and avoid droughts. And for a console like the Wii U, this could do wonders. However, I don't think that Nintendo has taken advantage of their amazing catalogue that could potentially have a nice home on their first HD console.

I'll list several games I believe would be great games to remake, either from a sales standpoint or just for the sake of diversity:

First off, Super Mario Sunshine.

This game was sort of panned when it released for the GameCube in 2002. It was very different from the formula that Super Mario 64 established for 3D Mario games, and people didn't really like that. Since then, however, it's gained a sort of cult following and people typically appreciate its uniqueness and innovative concepts. It's already a beautiful game, but a remake would really let the game shine (), and can you just imagine those water effects in bright, vibrant HD? I rest my case. (Plus, it's a Mario game so it would sell well)

Next, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.

Also a game for the GCN, but really the exact oppsite of Super Mario Sunshine. It was critically acclaimed, but shifted very, very few copies. So, why would I suggest Nintendo bring this game to the Wii U? Well, it's simple. The Wii U lacks key titles in the horror genre. As of now, it only has ZombiU and Resident Evil: Revelations, and Fatal Frame V is on its way, but that's really it on the horizon. A remake of Eternal Darkness would take less resources than a brand new game, and I believe it could potentially be marketed well and fill a necessary gap in the console's lineup.

Finally, F-Zero X for the N64.

This game sold well, and was also praised by fans and critics. Recently, Nintendo has made claims that they can't make a new F-Zero at the moment because they haven't found the right control scheme. Well, guess what, you don't have to. Just remake this game. It would both drum up interest for the series (along with the MK8 courses) and allow you to gauge how much people want an entirely new game. Plus, like Eternal Darkness, it would fill a gap in the library of the console, as there are no futuristic racing games on the way (aside from FAST Racing Neo, which is a digital-only title).

So, these are only a few of the games I'd like to see Nintendo remake for the Wii U, but what do you think? What would you like to see get completely remade in glorious HD for Nintendo's quirky console?
