Usually, I kept trying to push and cover as much ground as I could while maintaining my ink. Whenever I saw an opponent approaching (as long as I had some territory) I usually chucked a few grenades and kept my distance until I was confident that I could get the kill.
Stage-wise, I usually took the side route on Walleye Warehouse since the small corridors made it harder for my opponents to sneak attack. On Saltspray Rig, I usually went straight for the large area since having a large territory like that in your possession always helps out.
I'm hoping to figure out more when the game releases as well.
