Its funny as that is almost the complete opposite for me.
I know that probably most people love playing games on the big TV screen, but I always felt a sense of awestruck at being able to take the actual games with me anywhere I went growing up and so that to this day, that is where I get the majority of my gaming in.
Too bad about the rise of touch only smartphone games that I just never get the feel for, due to a lack of tactile feedback.
