I don't know actually, but the main character of this game is not the one from the first game, nor are the other main characters that I saw in this trailer. However, Kurou appears at the end of the trailer and he is a character from the first game.
I'm guessing it's a new story but set in the same world.

If you're worried about the plot, the first game had a really good anime adaptation, you should watch it :p
