I also had my fair share of problems with Sony consoles. My PS2 died (after 5 years though), and my PS3 60GB died in less than a year. However, my PS3 slim has been going 6 years strong, and I pretty much use it every day.
I got the PS4 as an X-mas gift, so I'm not that upset. Fortunately, my parents kept the receipt.
