Hmmm...I'm gunna go with another jrpg genre-crossover game with many characters, special items, great voice acting and music, with interesting character development and side-goals. None other than the brilliant ps1 game (also available on psp):

wow? That's terrible. There are plenty of similar games. Even borderlands is more similar to Diablo than wow is.
