I dunno. I really enjoyed the combat a lot. Eventually Ori gets stronger and even then launching enemies around and deflecting projectiles is very satisfying.
I also found the difficulty balnced enough and the temple escape sequences were a test of patience and super thrilling. To be fair though did not take me many tries to beat them.
Oh yeah, the locking is a little annoying. Couldn't go back to the second temple so I had to use a fix to transport me there. 
As for the game locking you at the end, I don't like it, but IGN review warned me beforehand so I made sure to 100% before going to the fire temple.
I love this game.
