He probably means if sales are bad because they aren't in direct competition...with the competition.

 

Well I don't think Nintendo is in a dire position, but it's not favorable for them at them moment. However, I do feel Nintendo's quality for consoles is higher than the other 2. Not in terms of specs, but overall stability and innovation. My opinion of course.
