A stronger Wii U would have sold the same, but they would never have made a profit this gen. They are going in the right direction with getting the hardcore audience noticing the Nintendo brand again. I think Nintendo's best shot will be next gen (at least with attracting the hardcore fanbase).
They really need to merge at least one more developer, or get a few more M rated titles linked to the Nintendo brand. If they could bag Konami or Capcom (which both I see as possibilities before this gen is over) or some of their IP's, everything will be in place to bet on a powerful console.
