Do You Prefer a Silent Protagonist or a Spoken Protagonist?

Definitely a vocal protagonist, when playing a video game I like to bond with the characters in the game like I do when I read books, it can turn a game with moderate gameplay into a really good game because of the the liability of the characters.
What's even better than a vocal protag though, is a vocal protag in which you control some of the dialogue like mass effect.
