Well the problem with FF12 was that they ripped a LOT from their previous game "Tactics Oger." right down to Lans and Lans being there, looking exactly the same and playing the exact same rolls.
What they didn't steal from Tactics Ogre they stole from Star Wars.
FF Tactics was also a lot better then FF10. (Though it also ripped a lot from Tactics Ogre, but that's part of what made it so good. It was half Tactics Ogre and Half FF5.)
I believe what Twesterm was saying though is that all we know about FF13 is that it looks good. We know nothing about the story except the main character is a female cloud and we know next to nothing about gameplay.
GT5 is a known quantity pretty much. I mean Prologue is out. We know that game is sticking to it's tried and true method. We know FF13 is going off the grid with gameplay and the only plot point we know is that it's a rehash of 7.
