I don't find anything wrong with the actual ideas of Amiibos as a collectable and bonus feature.

The only issues I have with them are:
- the rarity and supply of certain ones/exclusives.
- due to exclusives and rarity, some features cannot be used (ie Xenoblade because it's hard to find a Shulk Amiibo)
- cutting out a huge in-game content just for Amiibos (ie Mario Party 10)

I do believe that Nintendo are actively trying to push more of these units out. Link is now common in stores (being necessary to Hyrule Warriors) after being *RARE* for so long, along with Zelda. And I've seen Ike and Marth making a comeback (despite Marth being one of the hardest buggers to track down since Amiibo launch) in anticipation of STEAM.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an influx of Shulk Amiibo closer to the Xenoblade launch.

I've heard as well that Nintendo plans on pushing out more Shulk (and others) as well.  I hope it's not a Gamestop exclusive still as it'd be nice for more people to get their hands on it elsewhere.

The sad part about this was that the Shulk Amiibo was released and sold out way before Xenoblade 3DS was released.  Nintendo should've made more for the launch of the game so that first time buyers would have a chance to buy Shulk Amiibo with the game.
