'The Week After' Reviews

This thread mainly serves the purpose of being a hub for all of my reviews. The series is named 'The Week After' as I will be reviewing games more or less a week after I complete them, in order to let the experience sink in completely without anything clouding my judgement. No, not each game will be reviewed exactly a week after I complete it. That would just be insane.

I will mostly be doing Nintendo games, but I'm sure I'll throw in some Sony games as well (I've never owned an Xbox and still don't, so if you're looking for Microsoft-specific reviews, this may not be the place for you). Feel free to post how much you disagree with me in the comments.

Scoring Spectrum:

Yes, I will be scoring my games numerically. Yes, it's a bit old fashioned. No, I don't care. I don't go by the whole "No game is a 10 or a 1" thing (though I do respect people that stick to that, I like to use the whole scale). I will make it very clear in my reviews if the game is worth purchasing, but I will also have a verdict and a number at the bottom if you're too lazy to read the rest. Without further ado, here's the spectrum:

10: A masterpiece. An essential game. Not necessarily perfect, but as good as good gets.

9: Amazing. Not a game you should overlook.

8: Great. While there are noticeable flaws, they don't detract from the overall experience.

7: Really good.

6: Above average. There are issues with the game that hold back its potential.

5: Average. Shows promise, but fails to deliver on that promise.

4: Below average. Has glaring problems, either in terms of gameplay, story or presentation (or all of the above).

3: Poor. At this point, you shouldn't even consider getting it.

2: Bad. Stop now.

1: Disgustingly awful. Sonic 06, ET, Bubsy bad. Leave now before you become one of them.
