very interested in virtual reality, how can i not be? it opens the door to new and exciting gaming experiences and feels like the natural next big step in gaming. however i want it to be its own platform, for regular gaming like we have now to co-exist with VR. for both mediums to keep pushing gaming forward.
however when it comes to AR i strongly feel its just a fad and a few marketing gimmicks. the "ohh thats cool" sensation you have once you try it out for the first time or see it for the first time. but when it comes to everyday use its just boring.
we had AR in games years now, and it hasnt set the world on fire, not will it ever. AR is very limited when it comes to games, its simply cant realize a full gaming world and is limited to the small location you are in. and thus it will always be inferior to regular and VR gaming.
