I keep coming back to cable despite streaming services. We don't watch anything live (dvr it all) yet having a limited menu served works better for us than the overwhelming amount of choices with streaming.
Weekly episodes are fine for watching tv for me. Binge watching can be fun too, yet I always end up bored after a couple episodes in a row, never get that anticipation of what's going to happen next.
Plus it works like a kind of clock or regular schedule, it's friday x is on. Some regularity in live is nice too.

Anyway the shows we usually watch are available to stream too through the same cable box, except it locks out vcr controls so you have to sit through the commercials. It's a matter of control I guess. We dvr it first so we control how we watch it. (My wife can condense a 2 hour episode of the voice into less than 15 minutes...) Streaming you're left with akward controls or no control while watching.

The kids are all into you tube and netflix though.
