I agree with Rocketpig. I think #3 is the same affect people say about the PS3 when they say "It has no games". The PS name is defined by MG, GT, and FF. Anything other then those mean it has nothing yet. the xbox name means Halo. There is no Halo 4 coming out, so it has nothing coming out. So while there is a good linup coming out for the 360, no one seems to care about them (other then Gears2) |
Too right, it's quite amazing that PS3 fanboys perceive the current sales trends to be the downfall of the 360. ALL sales have to plateau at some point, doesn't matter which console, sure the Wii's might be 20 million more than the other two by the time it plateau's, but does that necessarily mean it's sales will stop and PS3/360 will catch up? Unlikely.
360's is plateau-ing at the moment, and while the PS3's rising now (as the 360's did a year ago) people believe it is the end of the MS this generation. At the very worst, I'd say the PS3 would be up the 360 by a few million by the time the PS3 hits it's "plateau" point. Which isn't entirely unexpected because of the Sony brandname, people tend to forget that PS3 is beating 360 weekly by only 30,000 approx (varies week to week, but that's the general consensus number).
The important thing to note here is that this sales increase is the PS3 playing catch up, while the 360's rise in sales was it extending its lead.
As for the games issue, there isn't one. As many people have stated before: Ninja Gaiden 2, Gears 2, Bioshock 2 (you know it's coming), Fable 2, Alan Wake, Halo Wars and Banjo 3. Those are just the titles we know thus far (remember that the big games conferences are just about to start).
There's also the fact that many sony fanboys seem to forget that PS2's success wasn't entirely due to sequels, alot of new IP's stepped up to fill in the gaps in the games lineup. Let's not forget DMC, God of War, Shadow of the colossus, Okami, Guitar Hero, Ratchet and Clank, Daxter etc started that generation. You think that MS is stupid enough to rely on Halo to sell a console? unlikely.
