Alien Isolation managed to sell over 2.1 million units, but Sega still felt its game sales were “weak” over the past fiscal year.

As reported by Game Industry, Sega has announced its most recent financial report for the last fiscal year. Sega management felt its game sales were “weak” even though business improved from last year.

Sega managed to sell 12.3 million game units over the last financial year. Even though Alien Isolation sold 2.1 million units, this was not enough to satisfy the company. They hoped the game’s sales would have been higher.

Alien Isolation wasn’t the only game that Sega felt under-performed. The two Sonic Boom games released on Wii U and 3DS collectively sold only 620,000 units. This ranks as one of the lowest selling main entry Sonic games of all time.

Business for Sega actually improved year-on-year. Packaged games rose by 41 percent year-on-year and revenue was up by 11 percent. Despite this, the company is still not confident on releasing many AAA games in the near future. It was announced recently the company will not have its own booth at E3 2015.
