obviously as an ESL, I will always be in disavantage against native speakers but tbh I only communicate with english speakers on the internet so it doesn't affect me irl. Actually I am glad my first language is spanish. As a norm people here learn basic english since kindergarden (which english speakers don't feel the need to do with a secobd language) and is easier to me to understand languages like portuguese or even italian.
