You didn't wrote that in your OP, that you hope (!) to aquire super-powers in the process. But given the choices I would prefer to aquire super-powers and live in our world.

This  should be the answer !!!  who would want to become a Super heros if we live in Super Heroes world Lol,  becoming Super Heros would be pointless
